The Gardena Evening Optimist Club (GEO) is currently looking for candidates to run for the title of 2017 Miss GEO. As Miss GEO,

she will go on to represent GEO in the Nisei Week Coronation Ball in August 2017 to compete to become the 2017 Nisei Week Queen.

Qualifications (Requirements for eligibility per the Nisei Week Foundation):
- Applicant must be at least 19 years old on the day she submits an application and not older than 25 on the day of the Nisei Week Coronation in August 2017.
- Applicant must be of at least 50% Japanese ancestry.
- Applicant must have been born or naturalized in the US as a permanent resident.
- Applicant may not be married, divorced or separated. Applicant may not have any children.
